The Brewers announced a roster change Saturday that they hope will bolster their bullpen. Minor League outfielder Raul Mondesi Jr. was traded for right-hand relief pitcher Burke Badenhop of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Badenhop had been with the Rays since being traded away in December 2011 from the Marlins. In his 66 appearances since taking the mound in Tampa Bay, Badenhop posted a 3-2 record and 3.03 ERA. Milwaukee had a 4.66 ERA in the 2012 season.
Specifics of the agreement have not been disclosed yet, but Badenhop passed on the 11:59 deadline offer from Tampa Bay, who received $1.075 million last season.
