Maxine Stegmann, 82, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at Door County Medical Center on April 27, 2024. She was born March 3, 1942, to Benjamin and Lena (Delfosse) Lardinois. On Nov. 7, 1959, she married John J. Stegmann in Brussels. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2016. Maxine had worked for the Four Arrows Restaurant, the Cherry Canning Factory in Sturgeon Bay and eventually retired from Emmerson Motors. Maxine loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing cards and games, and following all of their sporting events. She also enjoyed the company of her two dogs, Peaches and Charlie. Survivors include 4 children, Kim (Randy) Sibilsky, Kay Stegmann, Jay Stegmann, and Tim Stegmann, all of Sturgeon Bay; 4 grandchildren, Justin (Joanna) Stegmann, Brad (Tara) Stegmann, Aaron (Courtney) Anderson, and Nicole (Hunter) Dereene; 2 step-grandchildren, Amanda (Brandon) Wautier and Jessica (Alex) Sura; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Darlene (Vincent) Kinnard; 2 brothers-in-law, Louis Stegmann and Lee Maccoux. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sisters, Ethel (Emil) Bosdeck, Lucille (Donald) Wery; 3 brothers, James (Rita) Lardinois, Bernard Lardinois, and Milton (LaVerne) Lardinois. Funeral services will be 11:30 am Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:30 am until the time of service. A luncheon will follow the funeral at the Door Country Event Venue (7153 Hwy 42 N, Sturgeon Bay WI, at Schmitz Insurance Building). Forbes Funeral Home is serving the family.
