The Milwaukee Brewers seem to be picking up speed as they crushed the Philadelphia Phillies Sunday afternoon 9-1 at Miller Park.
Starting pitcher Kyle Lohse stayed strong through eight innings, allowing just one run on four hits.
The Crew had no problems on offense either. Scooter Gennett, Carlos Gomez and Jean Segura each had two RBIs; Juan Francisco, Lohse and Martin Maldonado each had one RBI.
The one hitch Milwaukee (25-37) ran into was Ryan Braun’s sore right thumb. The left fielder exited the game in the bottom of the third inning with the injury that has been bugging him for a few weeks.
Monday night the Brewers travel to Miami (18-44) for a 6:10 opening pitch.
