Drivers and fans alike are losing another night of racing due to inclement weather. Opening night for the 2013 season at Thunderhill Raceway, which was already one week behind schedule, has been cancelled.
Brian "Woody" Wodack, track manager at Thunderhill, has been working with his staff since early this morning in an attempt to prepare the track, in spite of a bleak optimum forecast. This morning's rain and snow ensured the event would have to be postponed.
Ideal track conditions come after a few solid days of sunshine and warmth to dry the clay track and keep the lower-set pit crew areas free of standing water. Woody expects drivers and fans to be able to enjoy opening night next Saturday.
