Hiram Burgos started things off right for the Brewers in Los Angeles last night but the bullpen couldn’t secure the lead and Milwaukee fell to the Dodgers 7-5.
A missed play at the plate cost the Brewers the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. Carlos Gomez got a late jump on and Adrian Gonzalez drive to center and missed the catch, allowing two to score for the Dodgers and putting them up 5-4.
Otherwise Milwaukee had a pretty good night. Burgos pitched six innings in his second Major League start, Ryan Braun and Yuniesky Betancourt homered, Alex Gonzalez had three hits and scored three runs and Jean Segura had two RBIs.
The Brewers stay in L.A. for an 8:10 game tonight and the final game of the series is Sunday at 3:10.
