The Milwaukee Brewers have been bitten hard by the injury bug already this season. Two first basemen are already out for the foreseeable future with knee injuries (Mat Gamel and Corey Hart). Now third baseman Aramis Ramirez will be on the shelf for a while.
Ramirez jammed his knee sliding into second base over the weekend against the Angels. An MRI scan came back negative for structural damage. But the Brewers third baseman does not expect to play anytime soon.
Even if he misses two weeks, Ramirez will have about two weeks of Spring Training games to get ready for the Brewers' April 1 season opener.
