
Algoma and Southern Door tied up in a back and forth matchup in varsity boys basketball last night. Tied at the half, Algoma pushed past the Eagles in the second half outscoring the young Southern Door squad by 11 en route to a convincing 61-50 victory. Senior post player Travis Kostichka dominated in the paint with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Hunter Prokash added another 18 points in the win. The Eagles were led by sophomore Mitchel Neubauer's 27 points.
Sturgeon Bay also fell in Packerland Conference action. The Clippers saw Nathan Abrahamson go off for 23 points in a 59-49 loss. No other Clippers player scored in double digits.
Oconto squeaked past Gibraltar 58-53 despite a 14 point effort by Brandon Steebs. The Vikings and Blue Devils were tied after three quarters. Trent Mehlberg scored 19 points in the win.
Kewaunee earned another conference victory with a 54-46 win over Sevastopol. Logan Brusky played amazing and put up 28 points, including five 3-pointers. Drew Birmingham led Sevastopol with 12 points.
