Sturgeon Bay gave Hortonville a run for their money last night in a non league American Legion Baseball game. A long ride to Outagamie County ended in a 9-7 loss for the Bays. David Van Dreese provided most of the offense for Sturgeon Bay. He netted four RBI's including a three run home run.
Lucas Stephenson also blasted a home run over the Commercial Club Park fence. Jason Lindemann finished with a three hit day with a double and two singles, Riley Cordier had two hits and a walk, and Riley Schartner had three walks and three runs scored.
Schartner pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings in relief. He retired the last nine batters he faced in order. Schartner only allowed a bunt single in his stellar relief stint.
Sturgeon Bay is now (8-7) overall and (6-1) in conference.
