An 8-3 Brewers win over Toronto yesterday afternoon at Miller Park gave Milwaukee the series, two games to one. Thanks in large part to the long ball, with 16 home runs hit in the series, Brewers starter Yovani Gallardo got a big boost from his offense.
Corey Hart, Martin Maldonado, Carlos Gomez and National League home run leader Ryan Braun each hit fence clearing blasts Wednesday.
Leading by three runs in the seventh inning, Braun smashed a two-run homer, his 20th of the season. It helped preserve Gallardo's fourth win in five decisions.
The Brewers have the day off today before starting a three game series on the South Side of Chicago. An interleague series with the White Sox begins Friday at 7:10 PM.
