Forward Karly Murphy’s sophomore season will prove to be just minutes long after tearing her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the opening moments of the Green Bay Phoenix’s loss to Northwestern Tuesday. It forces the Phoenix to try to find scoring elsewhere in a line-up that now has lost its top three scorers due to either graduation or injury. Offense will be key when the Phoenix head to Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood to take on No. 15 DePaul, which opened their season with 140-62 victory over Illinois’ St. Xavier University.
While the women head out on the road, the men’s team stay back after doubling up Wisconsin Lutheran 110-54 on Tuesday. They play Indiana State at the Kress Center beginning at 3:30 p.m.
