Coming off a sectional championship at Ashwaubenon last week, the Sturgeon Bay/Southern Door/Sevastopol swim team hopes it will bring more hardware home from Madison after this week. The WIAA State Swim Meet kicks off at 2:30 p.m. with the diving competition followed swimming events at 6:30. The co-op’s first event is the 200 yard medley relay where they are seeded seventh in the first heat. Senior Molly Banks will be in lane seven when she competes in the first heat of the 50 yard freestyle. She shifts over one lane for her next event, the 100 yard freestyle. The 200 yard freestyle relay hits the water next from lane eight in the first heat while senior Molly Ripp hits the water a couple races later for the 100-yard backstroke. The state meet concludes Saturday afternoon at the UW Natatorium.
