Both the men and the women’s basketball teams for the Green Bay Phoenix will open their respective seasons Tuesday at the Kress Center.
Picked to finish 5th in the Horizon League, the men’s team will open play against Wisconsin Lutheran for a special 11:30 tip-off time. It marks the first full season for Sandy Cohen, who transferred from Marquette and was allowed to play at the halfway point of last season. Tuesday’s morning matchup also marks the second of five games to be played at the on-campus facility before the majority of Horizon League and some non-conference games are played at the Resch Center.
The women’s team hopes to continue their dominance in the Horizon League when it plays in the doubleheader’s night cap against Northwestern. Picked to finish first in the Horizon League, it swept a pair of Big 10 matchups last season, including a 63-57 over the Wildcats in Evanston. The Phoenix tip off at 7 p.m.
