By Nick Freimuth Sevastopol is one win away from playing in the first-ever state championship in eight-man football in the state of Wisconsin. A dominating 48-0 win over Oakfield will set-up a week three rematch between Newman Catholic and Sevastopol. The Wausau-area school topped the Pioneers 26-6 back in week three. Coach Ron Frank and his squad feel they are ready for the rematch.
Nathan Stenzel was simply amazing Friday night. He ran for four touchdowns in the win. His longest was a 40-yarder to ice the victory in the third quarter. Spencer Evenson had three touchdown runs including a 45-yard score and a 47-yarder both in the second quarter.
Coach Frank said in the post-game show that the shutout was definitely more impressive than the 48 points they put up against the Oaks. WRLU 104.1 FM will again broadcast next week’s game from Wausau. Time and location have yet to be determined.
