The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans stunned the undefeated Wrightstown Tigers 21-0 on Friday night in a North Eastern Conference game in Luxemburg. After a scoreless first quarter the Spartans scored on a 2 yard run by Nathan Coisman with 2:52 left in the first half.
In the second half the Spartan’s defense led by Wyatt Kruse and Nathan Ronsman, who combined for 19 tackles, continued to shutdown Wrightstown vaunted running game. The Spartans extended their lead to 14-0 in the 3rd quarter on an 11 yard by quarterback Garrit Aissen and put the game away with Coisman’s 14 yard touchdown run with 2:24 left in the 4th quarter.
Aissen led the Spartans with 75 yards rushing and went 13-20 for 186 yards in passing. Luxemburg-Casco held Wrightstown (6-1, 7-1 overall) to just 145 yards in total offense and just 30 passing yards. With the win the Spartans (5-2, 5-3 overall) become playoff eligible and will face Oconto Falls next Friday night on Senior Night in Luxemburg. The game will be broadcast on 96.7 FM WBDK starting at 6:30 pm with the pregame show and kickoff at 7 pm.
