The Gibraltar Vikings made sure it was a homecoming game to remember for their seniors as they put the Wausaukee Rangers away late 44-28 on 105.1 The Viking. A year after playing their teachers because of a forfeit, quarterback Trevor Reinhardt made sure the Vikings got off to a fast start with a pair of touchdown passes to Andras Szakala and Adam Reinhardt. After Quentin Unferth scored the Rangers’ first touchdown, Alex Laughlin scored the first of his three touchdowns on a 70-yard pass from Reinhardt. The Rangers made a strong push at the beginning of the second half, scoring three of the next four touchdowns, with the Vikings’ Laughlin the only score in the drought. Laughlin would put the game away late with a touchdown through the air and on the ground. The Vikings continued their undefeated season in the conference but will face county rival and fellow undefeated MONLPC contender Sevastopol in Institute next Friday. Brett Kinnard and Tyler Dantoin will have the Sevastopol feed on 104.1 WRLU while Tim Kowols will have the Gibraltar call on 105.1 The Viking. Both broadcasts start at 6:30 p.m. followed by kickoff at 7 p.m.
