By Brett Kinnard The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs yesterday 3-1. This clinched them the NL central in game 163. They will now await the winner of the wild card for the NLDS. Jhoulys Chacin started on the bump and pitched a gem, considering the moment. The bullpen came in and shut the door on the Cubs.
The Brewers were able to get just enough run support in the game. Christian Yelich had three hits in the game and also drove in a run. Cain and Braun also drove in runs to put the game away for Milwaukee. It was a big step for the organization as a whole.
Milwaukee will now wait and see who they play in the NLDS on Thursday. They will have home field advantage throughout the National League playoffs. It’s an awesome time to be a fan of the Brewers.
