Dropped passes, fumbles, excessive penalties and a porous defense all equated to a 31-17 loss for the Packers in Washington Sunday. Aaron Rodgers mobility appeared to be a bit better this week compared to last but even the former MVP could not will his team to victory. Rodgers was 27/44 for 265 yards, two touchdowns and a quarterback rating of just 40.4. The Redskins were led by Alex Smith who finished 12/20 for 220 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and a QBR of 87.2.
Adrian Peterson looked like he was 25 years old again rushing for 120 yards on 19 carries including two touchdowns. Green Bay’s backs could not hold a candle to the elder statesman. Aaron Jones carried six times for 42 yards and Jamaal Williams amassed 29 yards on five carries.
Geronimo Allison led the receiving core in yardage. He caught two balls for 76 yards including a 64-yard touchdown. Davante Adams had seven receptions for 52 yards in the loss.
Next up, the Packers host the Bills who took down the Vikings 27-6 yesterday. Game time Sunday is noon at Lambeau Field.
