Christian Yelich remained strong at the bat. That wasn’t enough to allow the Milwaukee Brewers to gain ground in the National League Central Division race. The Brewers fell to the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-1 Saturday afternoon. Yelich’s 30th homer of the season in the first was the Brewers sole run of the game. Ivan Nova pitched six strong innings for the Pirates, limiting the Brewer to just four hits for the day. With the loss, Milwaukee falls 2 1/2 games behind the Cubs in the National League Central, and its lead for the top NL Wild Card spot is 3 1/2 games over the Rockies.
