Capitalizing on two early turnovers, the Gibraltar Vikings scored early and often in its 80-30 rout of the visiting Gillett Tigers on Friday night. Trevor Reinhardt got things rolling 30 seconds into the game with a long touchdown pass to wide receiver/running back Alex Laughlin. Reinhardt and Andras Szakala would add rushing touchdowns later in the first quarter after Tigers’ star running back Bo Krueger fumbled on its first kickoff return attempt and opening drive. Krueger would still score three total touchdowns of his own, including a 60-plus yard touchdown pass and 81-yard kickoff return for a score. Both Reinhardt and Krueger would leave the game early due to injuries. Running back Luke Steebs would lead a few touchdown drives of his own as the quarterback including a 27 yard touchdown pass to Laughlin while Reinhardt’s freshman back up Samuel Lindenberg hooked up with Dominic Krauel for a 70-plus yard score of his own. The Vikings will face its toughest test of the season next Saturday when they face Newman Catholic at Steihm Stadium in Wausau for a 1 p.m. kick off.
