By Nick Freimuth Luxemburg-Casco varsity boys soccer was shutout Tuesday by Waupaca in a North East Conference game 5-0. Keagan Turrubiates scored two goals for the Comets. Keenin Polebitski, Forrest Ziebell and Aidan Charapata each scored one goal in the win. Spartans goalkeeper Garrett Zuleger made six saves. L-C had only three shots on goal.
Luxemburg-Casco volleyball lost the battle of the L-C’s to Little Chute in five games last night (19-25, 25-22, 25-23, 19-25, 9-15). Bekah Day ran the Spartans offense dishing out 52 assists, collecting nine digs and added five blocks. Cassie Schiltz was the featured attacker and tallied 20 kills and nine digs. Peyton VandenBush chipped in 12 kills and nine blocks. Kenzie Hanson was also effective in the front row with 12 kills. Coach Jeff Frey said, “It was a heck of match, it’s everything you would want in a match of this importance. Both teams played hard and with a lot of passion. Give credit to Little Chute, they made just a few more plays than we did, and Hannah is tough to stop out on the pin.”
The loss dropped Luxemburg-Casco to (12-10) on the year and (2-1) in conference.
