The West De Pere Phantoms used a relentless rushing attack to pull away from the Luxemburg-Casco Spartans 33-14 in a non-conference game in Luxemburg Friday night. The Phantoms rolled up 315 yards on the ground on 66 carries and controlled the ball with over 35 minutes of possession time.
The Spartans were able to stay close in the first half on a big 65 yard touchdown pass from Garrit Aissen to Ian Doell and a last second touchdown before halftime on a five yard run by Nathan Coisman that cut the Phantom lead to 17-14.
West De Pere (3-0) dominated the line of scrimmage as quarterback Joshua Blount ran fo 177 yards and three touchdowns while also passing for another score.
The Spartans could only muster 56 yards in total rushing. Aissen finished 11-24 for 177 yards with Doell catching five passes for 87 yards for the Spartans.
Luxemburg-Casco (2-1, 2-2 overall) will now travel to Marinette in a North Eastern Conference game next Friday.
