For the second straight week, the Gibraltar Vikings used a balanced offensive attack to pick up a lopsided victory in a 50-14 win against the Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Titans.
The Vikings held the Titans scoreless in the first half while collecting 30 points of their own on a pair of Trevor Reinhardt touchdowns (one passing to Brandon Stillman, one rushing) and scores from Alex Laughlin and Andras Szakala on the ground. Reinhardt would go on to throw two more touchdown passes in the second half, connecting with Stillman and Laughlin. Two mistakes by the Vikings set up the first touchdowns they had given up since their first game against NEW Lutheran. A fumble deep in Gibraltar territory set up Trenton Telford’s touchdown run from about 15 yards out for the Titans’ first time on the scoreboard in over 10 quarters. A roughing the passer penalty would wipe out Stillman’s second interception on the evening and was countered quickly by Telford’s second touchdown. Szakala ended the evening’s scoring with his second rushing touchdown.
The Vikings improve to 4-0 on the season and return home next week to face Gillett. The Titans drop to 1-3.
