By Brett Kinnard The Milwaukee Brewers played host to the division rival Chicago Cubs on Tuesday night at Miller Park. Wade Miley, who has been stellar up to this point, toed the rubber for the Brewers. He went up against a south paw in Mike Montgomery for the Cubs. Chicago opened this game with a four-game division lead over Milwaukee.
After both teams put a zero up on the board in the first inning, they each fired back with a run in the second inning to knot it up at one apiece. It was Ryan Braun coming across to score after a couple hits and a wild pitch during the Brewers turn to bat. They tacked on another run in the bottom of the fourth on an Erik Kratz sacrifice fly to put them up 2-1 after four.
From there on out Milwaukee would score in every inning to eventually put the Cubs away 11-1 in the game. It was a trouncing of the division rivals that made all Brewer fans happy.
Milwaukee will now go for the sweep against the Cubs on Wednesday. First pitch will be thrown out at 7:10. Jhoulys Chacin will toe the rubber for the Brewers.
