The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers took a 2-1 victory over the Kane County Cougars on Saturday in game one of the three-game series at Northwestern Medicine Field.
The Cougars Yan Sanchez singled to right with men on to drive in a run and take 1-0 lead.
Wisconsin scored two runs in the top of the fourth. A Darren Seferina ground-rule double followed by a Gabriel García bunt for a single to put runners at the corners. Chad McClanahan’s sacrifice fly to right scored Seferina and sent García to second. Trever Morrison gave the Rattlers the lead with a two-out single to right to score García and give Wisconsin the lead. If the Timber Rattlers win the final two games of the series at Kane County, they will be in the playoffs.
