Alvin B. Rankle, 88, Algoma, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at Bay Road Place. He was born March 16, 1930, in Kansas City, KS to Lawrence and Sarah (Levene) Rankle.
Alvin grew up in Kansas City and earned his Master’s Degree in Engineering. He worked at the Pentagon, NASA Space Program in Florida and ended up driving a truck for the military for over 10 years. Alvin and his first wife started the first kindergarten in the Jacksonville, Florida area.
Alvin married Geraldine Sibilsky May 12, 1975, in Illinois.
Alvin enjoyed tinkering on his cars, fixing pretty much everything that would come his way, motorcycle riding on his Harley, cooking, shopping for antiques and he had a pilot’s license and loved to fly small planes.
He is survived by his wife Geraldine, daughter Rebecca Ruth Rankle, son Devin (Patty) Rankle, four grandchildren, stepdaughter Nikki (Reggie) Baudhuin, two half-sisters April (Kevin) Wheeler and Susie (Rick) Seidel, one half-brother Terry (Betty) Rankle and stepmother Helen Rankle. He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a private family service at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Bay Road Place and Unity Hospice for all the care and kindness given to Alvin in his final days.
