By Nate LoCascio The (2-1) Green Bay Packers will finish up the preseason with a trip to Kansas City to play the (1-2) Chiefs tonight. Kick off is set for 7:30 PM. It is the first preseason matchup with the Chiefs since
2016, which was the end of a seven-year run where the two teams met in the preseason finale six times. Green Bay is 4-4 when closing out the preseason against Kansas City and 8-8-1 overall when playing the Chiefs in the preseason.
Green Bay’s last victory at Kansas City came during the 2007 regular season (33-22). Green Bay has won five of the past seven preseason finales. If Green Bay wins tonight, it will mark the fourth time in the last five
years that the Packers have won three preseason games (2014, 2016-17). Green Bay has scored 20-plus points in five of its last seven preseason contests.
Green Bay opened the preseason with a 31-17 win over Tennessee at Lambeau Field, marking the fourth consecutive year the Packers won the first preseason game they played. In preseason game No. 2, Green Bay defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, 51-34, at Lambeau Field. The Packers have won seven consecutive preseason home games and nine of the last 10 preseason games played at Lambeau Field. Last Friday, Green Bay suffered its first loss of the preseason, losing 13-6 at Oakland.
The Packers will open the regular season at home on Sunday Night Football against the Chicago Bears on Sept. 9.
