By Brett Kinnard The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-4 yesterday afternoon at home. Chase Anderson started off on the bump and did just enough to pick up the win. He went five innings giving up four earned runs in the process. Jeremy Jeffries would come in to nail down the save in the ninth.
The bats picked up when they needed to in this game. Mike Moustakas hit a two-run bomb in the third inning to push the Brewer lead to four runs. Jonathan Schoop stayed hot at the plate with a homer of his own in the 6th inning to give the team some more breathing room.
The Brewers will now have a day off on Monday before beginning a series with the Reds on Tuesday. Milwaukee now sits with sole possession of the second NL Wild Card spot.
