After a last minute cancellation forced them off the field a week ago, the Gibraltar Vikings look to hit the ground running against NEW Lutheran in Green Bay on Saturday.
The Vikings accepted their second forfeit of the year in the MONLPC-8 after Oneida Nation called a last minute audible and canceled the season opener. Bowler-Gresham also canceled on Gibraltar and the rest of the conference earlier last week, but that game has been replaced. Trevor Reinhardt, Alex Laughlin, Adam Reinhardt, Brandon Stillman, and Marcus Reinhardt lead a talented air attack for the Vikings, finishing as the leader or top five in many passing categories.
NEW Lutheran lost their first game of the season in overtime to Gillett 36-34. As much as the Tigers struggled to control Luke Bukowski, the Blazers could not handle Bo Krueger. Bukowski scored three touchdowns on the ground and one through the air, but it was dropped pass in overtime that gave the Tigers the edge on a five-score night by Krueger.
Tim Kowols will have the pregame show on 105.1 The Viking and DoorCountyDailyNews.com at 12:30 p.m. followed by the call of the game by Eric Fischer from Green Bay beginning at 1 p.m.
