By Nick Freimuth The Sturgeon Bay Clippers scored their first touchdown of the season Friday on 104.1 FM WRLU and 103.3 FM The Clipper but still fell hard to Chilton 51-8. A pair of sophomores hooked up on a 60-yard touchdown in the third quarter to break the scoring drought. Storm Adams caught a short pass from backup quarterback Anthony Jennerjohn and made some great moves to take it in for six. Jennerjohn then converted on a two-point conversion from seven yards away to account for all of the Clippers scoring Friday night.
After -79 yards in week one at Valders, Sturgeon Bay made some major strides finishing with 80 rushing yards and 85 passing yards. The CLippers did sustain a few more costly injuries in the loss. Starting quarterback Jack Schmelzer and starting center Max Bordeau were each sidelined in the loss.
The Clippers will travel to Peshtigo next week for the first conference matchup of the 2018 season. The Door County Medical Center Pre-Game Show will begin at 6:30 PM with kickoff to follow at 7:00 PM on 104.1 FM WRLU and 103.3 The Clipper.
