Chase Anderson did not let two second-inning solo shots derail his outing as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cincinnati Reds 5-2. Eugenio Suarez and Phillip Ervin drove in the only runs but also got the only hits against Anderson, who eventually went six innings while striking out a half dozen. The Brewers answered the Reds homers with two of their own by Christian Yelich in the 5th and Travis Shaw in the sixth to make it 3-2. An RBI triple by Keon Broxton and a sacrifice fly by Manny Pina added insurance runs for the Brewers the bullpen ensured they would not need. The Brewers are back in action Tuesday night at Miller Park with Junior Guerra facing Salvatore Romano.
