In addition to the three games featured on the radio stations of DoorCountyDailyNews.com, two other schools saw action last night while another awaits their moment in the sun on Saturday.
In the only area home game this weekend, the Kewaunee Storm cruised to a 54-7 victory over Crivitz. The Storm and Wolverines traded touchdowns after Travis Reinke opened the scoring with a 20-yard catch for Kewaunee while an 80-yard strike evened things for the Wolverines. Storm quarterback Ryan Carmichael led the way after that, leading Kewaunee to 47 unanswered points.
Algoma was shut out on the road in Chilton 24-0. The Wolves struggled to hold down the Tigers running game, allowing over 240 yards on 41 carries. Algoma’s Max Panger threw for 97 yards and Jordon Deringer ran for another 71 in the loss.
Sevastopol went from Friday night lights to Saturday sun thanks to Bowler-Gresham canceling their entire season earlier this month. The Pioneers were rewarded with a trip to Mazomanie to face Wisconsin Heights. The Pioneers are coming off one of their most impressive seasons in recent memory, going 11-1 and posting a victory in the WIAA Jamboree last year. Wisconsin Heights, which also had a team forfeit their opening game against them, went 6-3 last season with a handful of games against teams from Illinois. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
