By Nick Freimuth The Green Bay Packers opted to hold out 18 players on their 90-man roster Thursday night against the Titans. The pre-season opener was filled with young players, penalty flags and extremely long lines at concession stands. Green Bay came from behind to beat the Titans 31-17. The combination of Brett Hundley, DeShone Kizer and Tim Boyle did enough to win the Bishop’s Charities Game. In total, 74,098 fans filled the stands at Lambeau Field Thursday night.
Equanimeous St. Brown, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, J’Mon Moore and Jake Kumerow were the Packers top receivers on the night. Brett Hundley finished the night 9/14 for 108 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Hundley’s passer rating was 81.8. DeShone Kizer went 9/18 for 134 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions. Kizer’s passer rating was 74.8. (Boyle’s stats were not available at time of publication)
Jamaal Williams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Jake Kumerow each caught a touchdown pass. Joel Bouagnon scored the lone rushing touchdown of the game for the Packers.
Green Bay will look to run their exhibition schedule to (2-0) next Thursday when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers.
