By Nate LoCascio The Green Bay Packers claimed linebacker James Hearns off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Saturday. Hearns, 6-2, 265, was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Louisville by the Cowboys on April 30 and was released on Aug. 3. He played in 39 games with 21 starts for the Cardinals and recorded 97 tackles, 17.5 sacks, 28 tackles for a loss, nine forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and five pass deflections. As a senior in 2017, Hearns tied for the team lead with seven sacks. He will wear No. 49 for the Packers.
