High winds, rough waters and rainy conditions dampened the opening day for the Kewaunee/Door County Salmon Tournament. After the first day on Saturday, the largest of just four fish over 20 pounds weighed, was a 37-1/4-inch, 22.41-pounder caught by Neil Aaberg (photo above). With extremely rough and often rainy conditions, most boats stayed on shore, or at the dock.
Other port winners Saturday included Tom Minser at Algoma (22.17), Brian Gabriel at Sturgeon Bay (20.08), Kristopher Smith at Kewaunee (17.00) and Ryan Dahlke at Baileys Harbor (14.79). Macy Rae Lane had the fourth with a 22.32 salmon at Washington Island.
