The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Single-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, earned it’s fourth straight win on Friday, defeating the Cedar Rapids Kernels 5-2. Each team traded runs in the first, which included a Gilbert Lara RBI single to score Demi Orimoloye to tie the game. The Timber Rattlers jumped out to a lead in the fourth inning on a 2-run homer by KJ Harrison (19th ranked prospect in Brewers organization). The Kernels would add another run in the 5th to bring the game within one, before Wisconsin added insurance runs in the 6th and 8th innings. Harrison and Orimoloye led the Timber Rattlers offensively, each going 2-4 in the ballgame. Christian Taugner earned the win, pitching 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, and striking out 5. The Timber Rattlers will change their name Saturday evening to the Wisconsin Brats to honor Wisconsin heritage. Alec Bettinger takes the mound with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 pm.
