By Nick Freimuth It was a tough afternoon of sectional softball for the Packerland Conference Tuesday. All three remaining Packerland teams lost including two in extra innings. Southern Door fell to Brillion 5-4 in eight innings. The Eagles were up 4-2 until Brillion tied the game in the bottom of seventh inning on two unearned runs. In the bottom of the eighth, Southern Door had 2 outs and Brillion came up with three straight hits to score the winning run. The Eagles leading hitters were: Erin Tadych – three hits and Kylie Neinas – two hits including a triple. Lexi Wery pitched the first four innings. Grace LeGrave came in the fifth inning to pitch the rest of the game and took the loss.
Algoma fell hard to Manitowoc Lutheran 11-2 and Oconto lost 4-3 in ten innings to Tomahawk.
