By Nick Freimuth Veteran tight end Jimmy Graham has been a regular in the Pro Bowl (5x) during his nine year NFL career. The aging tight end (31) is much closer to the end of his career than the beginning and some worry he may not have much left in the tank. If Tuesday’s open OTA is any indication that is far from the truth. Graham was the most impressive receiving threat by far. Not only did he impress but he was the most targeted during team reps by Aaron Rodgers, Brett Hundley and DeShone Kizer.
Wearing number 80, Graham gives Packers quarterbacks a big body over the middle. The former Seahawk and Saint showed he could still battle between the hashes Tuesday. It was a no contact day, but his hands looked as sure as any on the field. Late in the practice Graham shot up the right sideline and showcased his speed blazing past a linebacker dropping in coverage to score a touchdown.
The other takeaway from Tuesday’s OTA was the inactive players due to injury. The list was full of likely starters like Clay Matthews, Tramon WIlliams, Lane Taylor, Bryan Bulaga and Davante Adams.
