By Travis Grooters Bay Ship won its second game in a row 14-8 over the Kiwanis Monday afternoon. There were lots of runs scored in the rain as pitchers from both teams struggled with control in the wet conditions. As the weather improved, pitchers were able to settle in. All hitters from Bay Ship reached base safely at least once. Leaders included: Vance DeKeyser – 1×1 with a single, RBI, and four runs scored with some smart and aggressive base running; Tyler Grooters – 3×4 with five RBI. Pitchers: – Caden LeMieux (WP) settled in after a tough first inning in the rain to throw 2 2/3 innings. -Blake Guilette had excellent control through 2 1/3 innings in relief. -Tyler Plizak closed out the game.
The Lions topped Nicolet Bank 7-3. Curt Meyer and Frankie DeYoung pitched in the win. Leading hitters included Curt Meyer, Braden Evers, Jerik Valley, Jonathon Ahlswede and Frankie DeYoung.
Rotary crushed Red Room 14-5. Nick Beck and Derian Muraski were the winning pitchers. Zack Krueger, Sam Zirbel and Derian Muraski each had three hits in the win. Blayre Writt hit his first Cal Ripken League homerun in the game.
