Saturday saw the biggest bass caught in the history of the Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament, an 8.78-pound bass caught by the team of Marty McSharry and Benny Antoniewicz. The duo finished 27th out of 125 teams finishing with a total weight of 46.12 lbs on ten fish. Jason Stangel and John Ullmer won the tournament registering 58.87 lbs on ten fish, with their biggest fish weighed in at 7.54 lbs. In total 1145 fish were caught, weighed, and released, with a total weight of 4807.44 pounds. The average fish weighed in the tournament at 4.20 lbs, less than half the weight of the record fish.
