It was a busy Saturday for Packerland Conference baseball. Sturgeon Bay traveled to Algoma and rolled to a 7-0 win. Jared VanBramer struck out seven and allowed just four hits over 6.2 innings. Max Bordeau, Anthony Moore, and Trent Ehlers all had two hits for the Clippers, with Ryan Jacobson adding a three-RBI double as well. For the Wolves, Casey Nelson had two hits.
Peshtigo made the most of its trip to Southern Door, cruising to a 12-3 win over the Eagles. Mitchell Ahrens led the Bulldogs with two hits and two RBI and teammate Travis Plym also adding two hits and an RBI. Nick Nelson earned the win for Peshtigo, allowing just one run over four innings.
Kewaunee shutout Sevastopol in both games of a doubleheader, winning 13-0 and 6-0. Daniel Stangel went 3-3 in game one, driving in one run and scoring four. Lincoln Barta, Cody Bultman, and Wyatt Kruse all went 2-3 combining for seven RBI. Andrew Richard only allowed one hit, going to Sevastopol’s Zach Christianson, struck out four in the five-inning contest. In Kewaunee’s 6-0, game two win, the Storm scored two in each of the three innings. Kruse went 2-2 and threw 4.1 shutout innings. Jacob Pflieger knocked two hits for the Pioneers.
In non-conference play, the Coleman Cougars traveled to Gibraltar and came away victorious 3-2. Coleman scored all three of its runs in the third inning. Cole Woulf, Mason Risner, and Sam Kutcha all recorded two hits in the win. Luke Steeps and Nate Ewaskowitz each had two hits for the Vikings in the loss. Steebs took the loss after throwing six innings.
