In Packerland Conference softball on Saturday, the Southern Door Eagles blazed past Green Bay NEW Lutheran 17-1 in 4 innings of game one of a doubleheader. The Eagles were dominant on both sides of the ball, as winning pitcher Lexi Wery gave up only three hits and struck out 5 Blazers. Offensively Grace LeGrave led the charge with three hits, and teammate Tehya Bertrand contributed two hits. In game two, considered a non-conference game, Southern Door scorched past the Blazers with a 27-1 win. Grace LeGrave was the winning pitcher for the Eagles and struck out six. Gabby Atkins led the offense with 4 of Southern Door’s 18 hits in the game. Wery and LeGrave each added three hits, and Meghan LaCrosse left the yard with a grand slam. With the wins, Southern Door is now 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in Packerland Conference play.
Also in Packerland action was Gibraltar hosting and falling to Oconto 17-0. Mackenzie Honish got the win for the Blue Devils as she struck out nine and allowed only four Vikings hits. Ellen Sohrweide led the Blue Devils offense in the route, going 4-4 including a triple while tallying four RBIs.
