Five former Wisconsin Badgers saw their dreams come to fruition on Saturday, being drafted into the NFL. Cornerback Nick Nelson holds the honor of being the first Badger drafted this year, going 110th to the Oakland Raiders. Tight end Troy Fumagalli didn’t have to wait too much longer, being picked by Denver in the 5th round with the 156th overall pick. Former receiver turned defensive back Natrell Jamerson became a New Orleans Saint with the 164th overall pick. Linebackers Jack Cichy and Leon Jacobs also came off the board with Cichy going to Tampa Bay in the 6th round and Jacobs to Jacksonville in the 7th. Three Badgers who went undrafted were signed quickly following the end of the draft, with DE Alec James and FB Austin Ramesh becoming Arizona Cardinals and OLD Garret Dooley agreeing with the Minnesota Vikings.
