It has been since a series-opening loss to the Cincinnati Reds on April 16 since the Brewers last experienced defeat after sweeping the Kansas City Royals with a 6-2 victory Wednesday. A Travis Shaw double opened the scoring in the fourth inning, which was followed by a Jorge Soler error and two productive outs by Jesus Aguilar and Jonathan Villar to stretch the lead to 4-0. The Royals would cut the lead in half with single tallies in the fourth and sixth innings before Aguilar’s single and another Kansas City miscue gave the Brewer two insurance runs in eighth to put the game out of reach. The Brewers used five pitchers to clinch the victory with Jhoulys Chacin collecting the win. The Brewers road trip continues in Chicago through the weekend when they open a four-game series at Wrigley Field against the Cubs.
