Using the formula of strong starting pitching, long-ball hitting, and a lights-out bullpen the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Kansas City Royals 5-2 Tuesday night in Kansas City. Zach Davies (2-2) went six innings and allowed only two runs to get his second victory of the season while relievers Matt Albers, Dan Jennings, and Jeremy Jeffress pitched a scoreless final three innings to secure the win. The Brewer offense was powered by a Travis Shaw three-run home run in the third inning and a solo shot by Lorenzo Cain in the seven-inning. Cain received a standing ovation from the Royals fans, in recognition of his seven prior years in Kansas City. The two teams will play again Wednesday night with first pitch set for 7:10 pm.
