By Gretchen Schmelzer Do you have running or other athletic shoes that don’t work for you anymore? Used running shoes will be collected from June 20-23, at the Collins Learning Center, 2041Michigan Street, and Sturgeon Bay during the Crossroads Trail Run week. The Friends of Crossroads will have a shoe-hanging tree near the front of the Collins Learning Center for you to deposit them. Working together with Fleet Feet of Appleton, we will get them on the feet of someone in need.
Reflecting the mission of promoting green living in our community, Crossroads Trail Run has something green for everyone! On June 23, Friends of Crossroads at Big Creek will host their annual 2k, 5k, 10k trail run and walk, drawing in outdoor recreational enthusiasts from around the state and nation. The trail event takes place on our own 200 acre Big Creek, Ida Bay, and Cove Creek Preserves. All participants and volunteers upon crossing the finish line earn a native plant, a performance t-shirt, locally made refreshments foods and awards.
