The Milwaukee Brewers were able to add to their Cactus League-leading win total while losing another game as they beat the Oakland A’s 4-3 in Maryvale but lost to the Seattle Mariners 7-4 in Peoria.
Against the A’s, Josh Hader picked up the win with a scoreless 9th inning featuring a pair of strikeouts before Devin Hariston drove in Blake Allemand in the bottom half on a sacrifice fly. Christian Yelich collected two hits while Eric Thames drove in two runs thanks in part to a 6th inning homer.
Against the Mariners, pitcher Brent Suter was touched up for six earned runs in 4 2/3 innings, including a pair of homers to Mike Zunino. Jonathan Villar led the way for the Brewers, collecting a pair of RBIs and two hits.
The Brewers host the Kansas City Royals at 3:05 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
