The NCAA Men’s Basketball brackets are out and for the first time since 1998 not a single team from Wisconsin fills one of the lines. The Badgers and Marquette Golden Eagles each had disappointing seasons and UW-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee were unable to sneak in as a Cinderella either. Wisconsin hoops fans will now need to look to another team for rooting interests for the most magical tournament in the United States.
Many are jumping on the Virginia bandwagon due to head coach Tony Bennett’s local ties. The UVA head coach in a former UW-Green Bay standout and son of longtime Badgers Coach Dick Bennett. Virginia is a number one seed for the third time under Coach Tony Bennett.
If you are looking for a Cinderella story always look tot he 5 Vs. 12 match ups. For some reason every year it seems the fifth seed is the kiss of death for teams. South Dakota State over Ohio State seems like a great Cinderella story for those looking to root for an underdog.
Braketology steps into high gear this week but remember to have them filled out before 11:15 AM Thursday when the first game tips off.
