Luxemburg-Casco Spartan boys’ basketball won their fourth straight game in front of a Senior Night crowd Thursday with an 87-65 victory over Waupaca in North Eastern Conference game. The Spartans jumped out to an early 8-0 lead and went on to take a commanding 45-23 lead in the first half as six different players hit three-pointers before intermission. The two teams each scored 42 points in the second half in a frantic, fast pace offense but the Comets never made a serious run to get back into the game.
The Spartans were led by Senior Josh Zeitler, who was honored prior to the game, and Juniors Nathan Coisman and Anthony Otradovec who all scored 15 points. Freshman Ryan Robillard chipped in 12 points.
Freshman Hunter Marcom led Waupaca (5-13) with 23 points.
Luxemburg-Casco (6-11, 6-15 overall) will now play Denmark in a rescheduled game on Saturday for the Northeastern Conference finale. The next L-C boys game broadcast on 96.7FM WBDK will be next Tuesday as the #10 seeded Spartans will travel to Seymour to take on the # 7 seeded Thunder in a Division II playoff game.
