The Door County Short Film Fest starts this Friday and will feature 20 short films produced locally as well as around the world. The annual event will kick off Friday evening at 6 o’clock at the Sister Bay Village Hall with two short films. The remaining films will be shown on Saturday from 2 until 8 p.m. Sister Bay Advancement Association Community Coordinator Louise Howson says the filmmakers’ productions vary in length and topics.
Howson says over 200 people attended last year’s short film festival and she expects even bigger crowds this year. The filmmakers will be in attendance during intermissions to answer audience questions. A four-person jury will decide the “best of the fest” with the 2018 Golden Mug awarded. Admission to the 9th Annual Door County Short Film Festival is $5 and includes both days as well as free popcorn along with pizza and beer from two local restaurants.
