The Southern Door Eagles remain undefeated in Packerland Conference boys basketball following an impressive 93-59 win over Gibraltar. Sam Gerend and Kyle Daoust were on fire Tuesday night. Gerend tallied 25 points including four three’s and just one made free throw. Daoust did the dirty work earning all 24 of his points inside the arc. Ryan Claflin added 16 points in the win. Gibraltar was led by Ryan Kropuenske’s 12 points. He was the only Viking to reach double digits. The Eagles soared to (8-0) while the Vikings sunk to (1-7).
Sturgeon Bay shutdown Algoma last night 82-49. The Clippers got the best game quite possibly to date of Carson Talbert’s career. The 6’6″ Talbert went off for a Packerland Conference high for Tuesday night 29 points. Mitchell Jackson poured in 12 points while playing the point and Jared Van Bramer scored 11 points in the victory. Dillon Dean, Mitchell Zimmer and Aidan Wallace all scored nine points apiece for Algoma.
The Storm topped Sevastopol at Kewaunee Tuesday 69-53. Nelson Demmin led the Pioneers with 16, Robby Pollman added 15 and Johnny Jorns chipped in 12 in the loss. Alex Hewett led a balanced Kewaunee attack with 16 points.
Luxemburg-Casco fell to rival Denmark 74-60 Tuesday. The Spartans had a dismal first half trailing 38-24 and were unable to recover.
